WHAT MAKES LAKE ANNA SO SPECIAL? There are hundreds and hundreds of lakes in the good old U.S.A but how many are located in Central Virginia? There are only a very few and none the size of Lake Anna . That is just one reason it is so special. Yes, that's right. There are many more reasons. One plus is the great location.
Lake Anna is located just miles from the Washington D.C. area. By miles I am not talking thousands or even hundreds.... it's only 90 miles away. We are even closer to Richmond, the capital of the Commonwealth of Virginia, close to Charlottesville, home of Thomas Jefferson and to Fredericksburg, home of George Washington's family.
What about the fact that Lake Anna is over 17 miles long?
That's a pretty big lake and Lake Anna is that big with over 250 miles of shoreline. Along those many
miles of shoreline are waterfront homes, waterfront lots, water access homes, and water access lots, some
of which are for sale. It's easy to find out which ones are: just click on the appropriate links to the
left or above and you will find them.
Right now the inventory is plentiful. There are many choices no
matter what type of property you are looking to buy. This just may be a great time to buy real estate be
it a vacation home, land, a full time residence or an investment.
That brings us to the question... Why would you want to buy real estate here at Lake Anna? Could it be
because it is still relatively inexpensive to have a lovely waterfront home on a beautiful piece of land
with great views of Lake Anna for the fraction of the price of a similar home on a similar size lot along
the Atlantic Ocean? Well, that's a fact. If you crave the water, and many of us do, you can have the best
of both worlds; a place near or on the water. Buying a re-sale home is possible or land can be purchased
and a home built to your specifications. Your real estate options are many.
Lake Anna properties vary in price from low cost access lots to expensive luxurious homes on spectacular waterfront lots. There's something here for every budget and no matter the cost of the land or the cost of the home, we all get to enjoy Lake Anna in the very same way. It is shared by all of us, even those that do not have property here at the lake. They have access through Lake Anna State Park and the marinas that surround the lake. It is often those that come to visit the state park and put their boats in at the marinas that find they want even more and they too decide to purchase their own spot at Lake Anna.
Whether you live here or are visiting, Lake Anna offers many pleasures. For those that love to spend time swimming, water skiing, tubing, fishing, sailing, kayaking or just feasting their eyes on the water, they'll find that this is the place to do it. There are any number of fishing tournaments held for the avid and novice fisherman and woman. You'll find all sizes and shapes of boats. Fortunately for us we do not have a limit on the size, or for that matter, the number of boats we own.
Lake Anna maintains it's rural identity through the efforts of property owners and government entities. We are able to enjoy the best of both worlds, the proximity to large and mid-size metropolitan areas and the countryside that surrounds Lake Anna. It has proven to be a sanctuary for many of us.
